HOW DO YOU STORE CRAWFISH?

Here are the simple steps to store crawfish. If stored well crawfish can last for a few days after pick up, however we are not responsible for any dead loss that may come with storing crawfish longer than the same day they are picked up.

  • First, place your crawfish sack in a large cooler
  • Next, place a damp towel towel on top of the bag.
  • Then cover in ice and store in a cool area.
  • Keep the drain plug pulled so that no water builds up, and make sure you don't store crawfish in water.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN CRAWFISH?

Here are the simple steps to cleaning crawfish:

  • First, forget anything you've ever heard about "purging" crawfish. Long story short, it doesn't work and it leaves you with dead crawfish.
  • Next, Pour your crawfish into a large cooler.
  • Then fill the cooler with fresh water from a hose.
  • Stir the crawfish around, removing the dead "floaters" as you do.
  • Allow to drain and repeat until water is fairly clear.
  • That's it! Your crawfish is ready to cook.

HOW DO YOU COOK CRAWFISH?

Here are the simple steps to cook crawfish:

  • Fill large pot with enough water to cover seafood.
  • Add your favorite seafood boil seasoning mix and bring to a rolling boil.
  • Add crawfish. Return to a rolling boil. Boil crawfish about 5 minutes or until you see crawfish start to float.
  • Turn fire off and let crawfish soak for 20 to 25 minutes (to you desired spice level).
  • Peel ‘em while they're hot and enjoy!

HOW DO YOU EAT CRAWFISH?

Here are the simple steps to peel and eat crawfish:

  • First, pull off the head of a crawfish.
  • Next, peel the shell off the tail, starting at the end furthest away from its tail. Peel on the side of the shell to expose the meat.
  • Pull the tail out of the shell and enjoy.
  • The best part of crawfish is in its head; the yellow liver is creamy and delicious, and tastes like uni (sea urchin).
  • You may eat the claws, if they are big enough. Just crack the shell of the claws by gently biting with your teeth. Remove the shell to expose the meat.
